Whipper Snipers - HPRPCY's Youth Program

Welcome to Whipper Snipers, the premier junior’s program at High Power Rifle & Pistol Club of Yuma, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of responsible and skilled marksmen. Our program is designed for youth between the ages of 12 and 19 who have an interest in firearms, marksmanship, and firearm safety.

Program Overview

  • Age Limit: The Whipper Snipers program is open to young enthusiasts aged 12 to 19, providing a supportive and educational environment for their journey into the world of marksmanship.
  • Membership Fees: Enjoy the benefits of Whipper Snipers for an affordable annual fee of $10. This fee covers club membership and access to all program activities.
  • Inclusive Package: All firearms, equipment, and ammunition needed for the program are furnished by the club. This ensures that every participant has equal access to high-quality gear, fostering a level playing field for skill development.
  • Comprehensive Training: Participants will receive comprehensive training covering essential aspects of firearm safety, marksmanship fundamentals, and the proper cleaning and maintenance of their rifles. Safety is our top priority, and our experienced instructor is committed to instilling responsible firearm practices.
  • Practice Schedule:
    • Day: Every Saturday
    • Time: 7:00 AM
    • Location: Adair 1000 Yard Range
    • Range of Fire: The program offers a diverse range of shooting experiences, with practice sessions spanning distances from 100 to 300 yards. Occasionally, participants will have the opportunity to challenge themselves with shots extending out to 600 yards.

4 Rules of Firearm Safety

  1. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
  2. Never point a firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot or destroy.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
  4. Know your target and what’s on the other side of it.
